Limited control over your domain name:
If you purchase your domain name with Squarespace, you will not be able to transfer it to another hosting provider if you change your mind later. This could be a deciding factor in whether you want to use Squarespace to host your site and buy your domain name yourself.
Limited SEO features:
Squarespace’s SEO powers have been questioned by a number of digital specialists. While there are lots of success stories of Squarespace sites ranking on Google, optimising your articles and pages isn’t as simple as it is with other website builders like WordPress or Drupal. This is an important aspect to consider if SEO is your primary method of driving visitors to your site.

All for the low price of $12 each month. While you can get all of this and sometimes even more for less with other web builders, it’s still worth looking into each of their tiers to see if there’s a Squarespace plan that suits your needs.
Business
If you’re looking for a low-cost option for an online store with basic features, Squarespace’s business tier is ideal. You receive everything in the Personal tier plus a range of fully integrated ecommerce tools to help you sell and maintain goods, accept payments, and more with the Business tier.
You’ll also have the option to sell an unlimited amount of products, receive donations, and allow your customers to create and send gift cards. What’s the bottom line? For a beginner to advanced ecommerce business, you should start with the Business Squarespace tool.
Basic Commerce
Consider Squarespace’s Basic Commerce tier to be the older brother of the Business tier. While you’ll get all of the features of the corporate tier, the $26 a month option adds a few more powerful features.
Your online store will be able to instantly list and tag products on Facebook and Instagram, as well as access powerful ecommerce analytics and even create customer profiles, using Basic Commerce. While other web builders may provide a similar set of services, Squarespace categorises them to focus only on online retailing.
